The story of the panda Yunchuan

The male giant panda Yunchuan, pedigree number 1193, formerly known as Zhen Chuanchuan, nicknamed Zhen Yingjun and Zhen Weiqu, was born on July 28, 2019 at the Shenshuping Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda. Because he needed to travel to the United States, he was renamed Yunchuan, taking the surname of his grandmother Baiyun. On June 26, 2024, "Yunchuan" and "Xinbao" departed from the Bifengxia Base of the Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center in Ya'an and flew to the San Diego Zoo in the United States on a chartered flight, starting a 10-year international cooperation in the protection of giant pandas.
